Victory Village Tour, Fall 1998

by Hugo Sprenger

Victory Village To stay within our "theme" of communication for this year the Building Operators Association toured the facility of Victory Village. What was formerly know as the Westwind Inn is now transformed into a world class audio and video recording and broadcast centre. We met in the coffee/gift shop area and were introduced to the staff of the facility. A splendid presentation was done in the multimedia room. A high-tech acoustically designed theatre for special presentations. A wide variety of different possibilities in recording technologies, in a high energy atmosphere, were shown to us.

During the intermission we were treated by the staff with coffee, juices, sandwiches and the most delicious (and big) home-made cookies.

The construction and renovations at the main level of the centre are all completed. So is the computer class room in the basement. In the near future they hope to start with the construction of recording and television studios in the lower part of the facility.

The centre offers all kinds of different computer classes, open for all who are interested. On behalf of the membership of the Buildings Operators Association, I would like to thank the staff of the Victory Village for their great efforts to show us their special and unique place.
